Man sentenced to 15 years in prison without the option of a fine for raping a 8-year-old girl after promising her E5 ($0.70)

All sentences from the same judge—
-A 25-year-old man locked up his 15-year-old girlfriend in his house for 10 days, (statutory) raped her and got 5 months in prison or a fine of E500 (approx $65).
-A man hacked another man on the head several times with a bush knife, was charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and also got 5 months in prison or a fine of E500.
-Two men assaulted another man by kicking, punching and beating him with sticks, got the same charge and sentence as above.
-A man assaulted a woman with a stick on the arm and face and got the same sentence as above.
-Two men were found in possession of a nyala carcass, a game animal protected by the game act, and got the same sentence as above.
-A Woman stole a tin of powdered milk worth E198.99 from a shop and got 1 year in prison without the option of a fine.

-An 81-year-old man is cautioned and discharged after beating his brother on the head and arm with a knobkerrie.
